As the Texas winter and spring high school sports season marches on, The Standard-Times will continue accepting nominations forCity National Bank Athlete of the Weekthroughout the year.
Plenty of action and outstanding performances remain in the high school sports season as local track teams compete in the postseason and other spring sports ramp up UIL playoff competition.

The Standard-Times will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Monday, and several standouts were nominated for the most recent City National Bank Athlete of the Week award.
The poll starts every Monday and runs until 11 a.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced shortly after.

Nominees
Yasmine Wells, Reagan County softball– She went three of four from the plate with three runs, three RBIs and two doubles in a 10-0 win over Clarendon.
Lawson Dankworth, Wall baseball– He went two for three from the plate with three RBIs in an 11-5 win over Tolar.

Ty DeBusk, Christoval baseball– He tossed 6 2/3 innings, giving up four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Hawley.
Mia Clemmer, Coahoma softball– She went three of three from the plate with seven RBIs and two runs in a 27-11 win over Holliday.
Madee Williams, Wall softball– She tossed seven innings, giving up five hits and two walks with 12 strikeouts in a 4-0 win over Canadian.
Bree Lewis, Coahoma softball– She went four of six from the plate with seven RBIs and four runs in a 22-18 win over Holliday.

How to nominate for next week's award
Nominations for next week's award aredue by 5 p.m. every Saturdayand can be submitted through email atsports@gosanangelo.com.
Students participating in all varsity sports are eligible for nomination. Please include an athlete's statistics/times from a single game/event in an email to the San Angelo Standard-Times.
Athletes who win Athlete of the Week cannot win the award twice for the same sport. An athlete can be nominated in a different sport, but can't win the award more than three times in a school year.
