The series was renewed ahead of the season two finale, when HBO announced that Carrie and the gang would return for a third season of the sequel series.
"We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex And The City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors," said executive producer and showrunner Michael Patrick King. "And Just Like That… here comes season three."
While details about the third season are sparse, it's expected that it will follow on from the second season, exploring the lives of Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda as they navigate their fifties.
It is likely that we will see the main season two cast — including Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), Kristin Davis (Charlotte), John Corbett (Aiden) and more — return. Notably, though, the controversial character of Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez) will not be making a return, as was confirmed earlier this year.
