A STUDY has found which vehicles are most likely to receive speeding tickets.
A shocking EV, not known for its athletic prowess, is at the top of the list, with more than 17% of drivers receiving fines.

A list of the most-ticketed vehicles comes out every year from car insurance comparing website, Insurify.
Around 20 million motorists were stopped by police officers for traffic violations.
Another 8.6 million Americans received speeding tickets, the company said.
Insurify is able to compile the speeding ticket research through its vast records of driving data.
Police frequently share speeding ticket information with private insurance companies to allow businesses to set monthly insurance rates.
The 2023 list generated some surprising results.
The BMW i3 was the most-ticketed vehicle in 2022, the study found.
BMW's i3 was a bulbous EV with a zero to 60 time of nearly seven seconds.
It boasted a modest 170 horsepower.
The production i3 was known for its futuristic design and implementation of sustainable materials.

Its lightweight carbon fiber construction made it a perfect city driver, but i3 owners typically stayed in low-speed areas due to its sub-200 mile battery range.
The car stopped production in 2022.
Still, 17.6% of i3 drivers were stopped by police officers and handed tickets, the study found.
The i3 helped propel the German luxury automaker into the top ten vehicle brands with the highest rate of speeding tickets.
Infiniti, Scion, Volkswagen, Subaru, and Mazda rounded out the top five most likely manufacturers to get a ticket.

The numbers shifted dramatically from 2022's speeding ticket assessments.
The prior year, Subaru dominated the top ten most likely cars to get a speeding ticket list.
Over 18% of Subaru WRX drivers received a speeding ticket in 2022, the highest rate of any car on the market.
BRZ, and Impreza drivers also cracked the top ten list.
However, only 1.9% of Subaru's seven-passenger SUV drivers received a speeding ticket in 2022.
