The Kansas Metropolis Chiefs and United Method are launching a fund to help the victims of the mass shooting that occurred Wednesday, February 14, on the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade.
The KCStrong fund will help "victims and their households, violence prevention and mental well being providers, and first responders," in accordance with a press release the Chiefs posted by way of their Instagram account on Friday, February 16.
"We awakened as champions expecting to have fun a day in triumph," United Means of Higher Kansas City stated in a press release. "As an alternative, February 14th shall be remembered for its tragedy. This moment is a chance to turn our collective outrage into action. For this reason together, the Chiefs and United Approach are creating a particular emergency fund to help our group in its efforts to heal and turn out to be more resilient within the wake of these horrific events."
United Means President and CEO Chris Rosson added: "We've all been affected by this second — and when you're compelled to behave, we encourage you to turn your outrage into action and contribute to this fund and share it with others. The one question that is still is — how will we respond, Kansas Metropolis?"

The Chiefs also announced that, in partnership with Hunt Family Basis and the NFL, they are contributing $200,000 to the fund.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes posted his help for the fund by way of X, writing, "Identical to #ChiefsKingdom has all the time been there for me and my household, we need to be there for them."
One individual was killed and 22 extra injured when photographs rang out Wednesday afternoon close to Union Station in Kansas Metropolis because the parade was wrapping up. Half of those injured have been underneath 17 years previous, with victims' ages ranging from eight to 47.
The lady killed has been identified as Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a Kansas City–area DJ and avid Kansas City sports fan. Reps for Taylor Swift confirmed that the singer and girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce donated $100,000 to her family.

"Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift," Swift, 34, wrote on Lopez-Galvan's GoFundMe web page.
Three suspects have since been detained and two juveniles have been charged with resisting arrest and different gun-related offenses. They're in custody at a juvenile detention middle.
Based on Kansas City police chief Stacey Graves, the motive for the capturing seems to stem from a disagreement between several events whose relationship remains unknown.
