Matt Infante/PEACOCK Friday the 13th is kind of the original summer camp horror movie. While most camps are closing up shop for the winter, the Peacock series Crystal Lake is giving us the origin story of Camp Crystal Lake and the tragedies that lead to Friday the 13th and its many sequels. The new series features many of the characters you know and fear from the films, so let’s get to know the Crystal Lake cast and characters.
Did you know that Brad Kane, the Crystal Lake showrunner, is the speaking and singing voice of Disney’s Aladdin ? True story! Unfortunately, the likelihood of a musical episode seems pretty low. Kane is a writer and producer as well as an actor, obviously, who also had a hand in shows like Black Sails and It: Welcome to Derry …another horror movie prequel series! However, franchise-wise, in its first season Crystal Lake already has more familiar names.
Pamela or “Mrs. Vorhees” is Jason’s mother. The character first appeared in Friday the 13th and has a storied history.
Linda Cardellini is, I think, best known for three different things: Freaks and Geeks, Scooby Doo, and Legally Blonde . There’s also ER, Bloodline, Mad Men, Dead to Me, Brokeback Mountain, A Simple Favor , and the MCU. Linda recently won an Emmy Award for her role in DTF St. Louis .
Levon is local law enforcement and a friend to Pamela.
You know William Catlett from television shows like Black Lightning, Lovecraft Country, Constellation, True Story, Love Is, First, and The Guy . His film credits include Never Let Go, Abigail, and A Thousand and One .
Briana is Levon’s sister and a local journalist.
Devin Kessler played Afeni Shakur on Godfather of Harlem , the MGM+ series that’s actually a prequel to the film American Gangster . Her resume also includes some short films and a few off-Broadway plays
Officer Dorf is another character from the Friday the 13th franchise.
Cameron Scoggins played Zach Welles on Nashville for two seasons and Nate Wozniak on Shades of Blue for two seasons. In addition to dozens of television guest appearances, he has also leant his vocal talent to horror films like Eenie Meanie, Caddo Lake, and The Exorcist: Believer .
This is Gwendolyn Sundstrom’s first major role. She previously appeared in the film I'm Beginning to See the Light as well as some shorts.
A missing child who will grow up to be a masked killer.
Callum Vinson is no stranger to horror television. He played Henry Collins in the 2023 series Chucky. The young actor’s other credits include The Night Agent season 3, Long Bright River, and the upcoming God of War.
“Crazy Ralph” is a harbinger in the Friday the 13th films.
You may have seen Nick Cordileone as Moseley in Warrior or as an admissions officer in Step Up 2: The Streets . Or, if you’ve ever seen the Broadway musical The Lion King on tour, there’s a very strong chance you saw him play Timon.
Rita is another town resident, serving as a foil to Pamela.
Joy Suprano played the lead on Best Foot Forward and a main character on Fleishman Is in Trouble. Some of her other credits include High Town, Almost Family, How to Make It In America, and the 2010 film A Little Help .
Claudette is a camp counselor in the original film and this series.
As you can maybe tell from the 13-year-old (coincidence??) picture above, Danielle Kotch has been acting since she was a child. She played a toddler version of Elle Fanning’s character in Phoebe in Wonderland and also appeared onscreen in The Brass Teapot, Person of Interest, Director’s Cut, Elsbeth, and 9-1-1 Nashville .
Barry is a camp counselor in the original film and this series and, infamously, Claudette’s boyfriend.
Prior to Crystal Lake , Phoenix Parnevik appeared in an episode of the series Bel-Air as well as the film Sommartider and several short films.
