It marked another stellar second within the superb basketball profession of Keatts, who was a star highschool quarterback and commenced his coaching stint at the lowly Hargrave Army Academy prep faculty.
Keatts was the top coach at Hargrave from 1999-2001 after which 2003-11 after beforehand& serving& as an assistant.
In 11 years at the faculty, he amassed 282 wins towards just 17 losses and gained two championships.&

"I drove the bus at Hargrave. I pumped the fuel," he recently& recalled.
"I swept the ground. I washed the clothes. I did this, the great Lord, put me on this spot, so I'm glad to be here."
Keatts believes the years he spent on the grassroots degree prepared him for his stand up the school ranks, where he served as an assistant to Rick Pitino at Louisville earlier than shifting to UNC Wilmington after which NC State in 2017.
"Throughout that time, it wasn't a nationwide media factor," he added.&
"I might name timeouts. I might draw up performs. I might make follow plans.&
"If I made a mistake, no one cared. It just wasn't – but I might lean on that as a result of it helped me get higher."

He hopes his unbelievable& journey serves as an inspiration to other& school basketball coaches.
"I hope that I'm inspiring lots of people since you don't need to be only a Energy Five player to be a Power 5 head coach," he stated.
